Google Drive
Connect Google Drive and Random can save documents to your Drive and work with the files you pick for it. It sees only those files, never the rest of your Drive.
What it reads
Only files you pick for Random in Google's file picker, and files Random created in your Drive. Google grants this narrow access per file, so the rest of your Drive stays out of reach. Sharing a file in Drive with an email address does not give Random access.
A file you pick can be added to your Data Room. Adding it again updates the same document instead of making a copy.
What it may write
Only when you ask, and only after you approve the card:
- A new file in your Drive, from a Data Room document or from text Random wrote for you.
Random never changes, moves or deletes a file in your Drive.
Connect and disconnect
- Open Connections
The workspace owner opens Connections and chooses Google Drive.
- Sign in with Google
Sign in and approve the access shown on the screen.
To stop, the owner presses Disconnect on the card. Your files stay in your Drive.
Where your data is
Your files stay in your Google Drive, under your own contract with Google. What Random keeps, such as a file you add to the Data Room, is stored in the EU. See the sub-processor register.
