Automations

Automations has two tabs. Workflows are the standing jobs you set up; Built-in lists what Random does on its own, each with a switch.

Workflows

  1. Describe or build

Press New workflow and describe it in a sentence, or dictate it. Random drafts the trigger and the steps for you to review. You can also start from a blank canvas.

  2. Pick a trigger

On a schedule, When an email arrives, When a file is added, or Run from chat.

  3. Add steps

Get a document, summarize it with AI, branch with If / then, then write with Draft an email, Create a document or Notify me. Put Wait for my approval wherever you want to check first.

  4. Test, then switch on

A Test run shows what the steps would produce, without saving a draft or sending a notification.

What a workflow can send

A workflow drafts and notifies. Draft an email saves a draft in your mailbox and never sends it. Notify me reaches only you: in the app, or by email to one of your own connected inboxes. One step reaches other people: Send a calendar invite books a meeting and emails the invite to its attendees, and only after you approve it. Update the CRM and Draft a calendar event wait for your approval too; a drafted event is created without emailing guests.
