Microsoft Outlook and 365
Connect Microsoft Outlook or a Microsoft 365 account and Random reads your mail and calendar. Replies become drafts in your Outlook Drafts folder, and you send them.
- Sorted for you
New mail is sorted. What needs your reply sits under "Waiting on you", and a reply is already drafted.
- A draft that learns your voice
Open the mail: the reply is drafted in the style Random learns from you. Edit it here, speak to change it, or ask for a new one.
- You send it
The reply waits in the Drafts of your own mailbox. You send it from there; Random never sends from your mailbox.
What you can ask
- What did Lena ask about the rollout? Random reads the thread and answers in Chat.
- Draft a reply to Vltava about the invoice. Random writes it in Chat; you check it and save it to your Drafts.
- Find the contract Tomas sent last week. Random searches your mail and can read the attachment.
What it reads and writes
- Reads your recent mail, to sort it, draft replies and spot your promises, and your calendar, for the brief, meeting prep, scheduling and your working hours.
- Writes reply drafts into your Outlook Drafts folder. Open one with Finish in your mailbox and send it yourself.
- Writes calendar events only when you ask: create, move, edit or cancel. Each waits on an approval card, and the card says first if your guests would get an email.
Random never sends an email from your mailbox. Approving a draft in Random does not send it either.
Connect and disconnect
- Open Connections
On the Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft 365 card, press Connect.
- Work or school account
Microsoft 365 asks an admin of your company to approve Random Assistant once. Random gives you a link to copy or email to your IT admin. After they approve, connect again.
Work accounts
To stop, disconnect one inbox and keep the others, or disconnect all of them on the card. You can also remove the access in your Microsoft account settings.
Where your data is
Your mail and calendar stay with Microsoft, in the region of your Microsoft 365 tenant, under your own contract with Microsoft. The connection runs through our mail connection provider in Ireland (EU), whose backups may be in the US, Canada, Australia and Brazil, covered by Standard Contractual Clauses.
