Follow-ups
Follow-ups lists the promises you made and the replies you are waiting on, each with a due day. When the next step is a message, Random drafts it for your OK.
How it works
- Random reads your mail
In mail you send, it finds promises such as "I will send the deck Friday". In mail you send and receive, it notices replies you are still waiting on. Meeting recaps from Kickscale add theirs.
Reads - It lists them
Each one lands in Follow-ups as Promised or Waiting on, with a due day and a link to the mail or meeting it came from.
Lists - You act
Reply yourself or use the draft, Snooze it, Mark done, edit or delete it. Use Add a follow-up for anything Random missed.
You
Drafts for your OK
For a promise to someone whose address Random knows, where the next step is a message, Random drafts the reply, on the original thread when it came from an email. For a reply you are waiting on that has been quiet for 72 hours, it drafts a short nudge. The draft then waits for you.
- Ask for one yourself: open the follow-up and press Draft it for a promise or Draft a nudge for a reply you are waiting on. Once a draft exists, the button reads Open draft.
- The draft waits on the Decisions page, and on your brief the follow-up shows Draft ready. You approve, edit or discard it there.
- Approve it and Random saves it as a draft in your mailbox, on the same thread when there is one. You send it from there.
- One draft per follow-up: once you approve or discard it, Random does not draft another. Nothing is drafted from a Private inbox.
Where they show up
- On your Daily brief, sorted by what can't slip, what is ready for your OK and what can wait.
- As suggestions on Tasks: a follow-up with no reply can become a task when you press Add.
- On the page of the person or project it belongs to.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Track follow-ups (Automations, Built-in) | On | Finds what you promised and what you are waiting on, in meetings and in mail you send or receive. |
What it does not do
Random never sends from your mailbox: an approved follow-up draft waits in your Drafts until you send it. It does not turn a follow-up into a task unless you add it, and nothing is taken from a Private inbox.
