Other email (IMAP)
Use IMAP for a mailbox that is not on Google or Microsoft but on your company's mail host, such as IONOS, Strato or your own server. It connects your mail only: there is no calendar over IMAP.
- Sorted for you
New mail is sorted. What needs your reply sits under "Waiting on you", and a reply is already drafted.
- A draft that learns your voice
Open the mail: the reply is drafted in the style Random learns from you. Edit it here, speak to change it, or ask for a new one.
- You send it
The reply waits in the Drafts of your own mailbox. You send it from there; Random never sends from your mailbox.
What you can ask
- What did Lena ask about the rollout? Random reads the thread and answers in Chat.
- Draft a reply to Vltava about the invoice. Random writes it in Chat; you check it and save it to your Drafts.
- Find the contract Tomas sent last week. Random searches your mail and can read the attachment.
What it reads and writes
- Reads your recent mail, to sort it, draft replies and spot the promises in what you send.
- Writes reply drafts into your mailbox, for you to edit and send. Random never sends an email from your mailbox.
- No calendar. An IMAP mailbox brings no events, so it adds nothing to meeting prep or the meetings in your brief, and Random cannot create events through it.
Connect and disconnect
- Open Connections
On the Other email (IMAP) card, press Connect.
Enter the account details the connection screen asks for.
- Let it read
New mail is sorted as it arrives. Your first brief is ready the next morning.
To stop, disconnect this inbox under Connections. Your other inboxes keep working.
Where your data is
Your mail stays with your email provider, under your own contract with them. The connection runs through our mail connection provider in Ireland (EU), whose backups may be in the US, Canada, Australia and Brazil, covered by Standard Contractual Clauses. What Random keeps is stored in the EU. More in Your data and the EU.
